Dr Onkar Singh Chauhan pursued his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from India in 2009. After graduation, he practised dentistry in India for 5 years. In 2014, Dr Chauhan immigrated to Canada and completed the equivalency process through National Dental Examination Board of Canada(NDEB) in 2018.
Currently, he is working as general dentist in the province of British Columbia(Lower mainland and Fraser valley region) since 2018. He is also a registered member with College Of Dental Surgeons of BC(CDSBC) & British Columbia Dental Association(BCDA). Dr Chauhan excels in all fields of dentistry ranging from general dentistry to restorative(crowns, bridges, implants), endodontics, pediatric dentistry & invisalign orthodontics.
He is also certified in conscious sedation and oral sedation. He continuously upgrades his knowledge in the field of dental technology and advancements and strives to deliver par excellence dental service to his patients. In freetime, Dr Chauhan loves to play cricket, going for walks/hikes and has a keen passion for tasting all varieties of food.

How often you go for dental exams depends on your oral health needs. The goal is to catch small problems early. For many people, this means a dental exam every six months. Your dentist may suggest that you visit more or less often depending on how well you care for your teeth and gums, problems you have that need to be checked or treated, how fast tartar builds up on your teeth, and so on.
How often you need to have x-rays also depends on your oral health. A healthy adult who has not had cavities or other problems for a couple of years probably won't need x-rays at every appointment. If your dental situation is less stable and your dentist is monitoring your progress, you may require more frequent x-rays.
Original dental records belong to the dentist who provided the treatment, and not the patient, because dentists have to keep all of their records for a period of time, as set out by their provincial dental regulatory body. Once you have selected a new dentist, you can request that a copy of your records be transferred from your former dentist.
